Director of Coaching Proposal

Director of Coaching.

The Director of Coaching will be appointed by the Board of Directors and would be contracted to provide the services as provided below:

The duties of the Director of Coaching shall be:

• Attend monthly Board of Directors meetings and to provide updates on coaching issues and advise the board on issues relating to coaching and player development

• Responsible for recommending to the Board of Directors, two qualified coaches for the Boys’ and Girls’ Coaching Coordinator positions.

• Responsible for overseeing the activities of the coaching staff and Boys’ and Girls’ Coaching Coordinators as directed by the Board. Insure that all contract coaches adhere to Club bylaws, policies and procedures.

• Make recommendations to Club President and PAD committee on formal disciplinary actions.

• Develop coach recruitment policies and assist Coach Selection Committee in prospective coach evaluation and interviews. Serve on the coach selection committee, along with the boys and girls co-coordinator and the technical director.

• Serve on the Soccer Development Committee.

• Develop, implement and track a coach evaluation process. Coach evaluations and assessments would be conducted twice per year and include establishment of coaching development plans.

• Take action and advise the Board on actions necessary to retain qualified coaches.

• Establish a consistent player development philosophy and oversee the implementation of this philosophy with Club coaches and Boys’ and Girls’ Coaching Coordinators.

• Perform other such duties deemed reasonable by the Board of Directors as needed.

Boys’ and Girls’ Coaching Coordinators.

The Director of Coaching will recommend two qualified coaches for the Boys’ and Girls’ Coaching Coordinator positions for approval by the Board of Directors. The duties of the Boys’ and Girls’ Coaching Coordinators will be:

• Devise, implement and oversee a consistent and clear player evaluation process amongst all comp and metro teams

• Work with coaching staff and individual teams to maintain direction of technical and tactical coaching focus. This will include overseeing at least 2 monthly group-training days, reviewing games for individual teams and documenting observations.

• Assist with organization and instruction at bi-monthly coaches meetings.

• Develop and implement a clear try out policy, and help coach’s address any issues related to the management and implementation of try-outs, before during and after.

• Coordinate with Coach Selection Committee on development and review of annual coaching evaluations by parents.

• Assist coaches, players, parents and Director of Coaching with college selection process of juniors and seniors in the Club.

• In coordination with the Coaching Director, the Coaching Coordinators will insure contract coaches adhere to Club bylaws, policies and procedures.

• Provide input and recommendations to the Coach Selection Committee.

• Oversee the implementation and development of the clubs junior academy, ensuring transparency between it and the U10 comp and metro programs.

• Develop relations with local AYSO programs to attract more players to the club.

• Conducting coach training and coach evaluations sessions in coordination with Director of Coaching.

• Work with Director of Coaching to supply appropriate substitute coach for tournaments, games or practice sessions when regular team coach is absent. If no appropriate coach is available, then Coordinator will coach the team.

• Perform other duties deemed reasonable by the Director of Coaching and Board of Directors as needed.
